Hightail gets a World Cup Makeover
CAMPBELL, Calif. — June 11, 2014 — As excitement builds around the upcoming World Cup in Brazil, file sharing service Hightail is celebrating its love for the global game on its homepage, www.Hightail.com.
Starting on June 12th, Hightail will showcase a series of extraordinary soccer-themed photographs by Brazilian photographer Caio Vilela. He has traveled the world photographing the world's favorite game being played in a variety of locations, from the Great Wall of China to the foothills of the Himalayas and, of course, on the beaches and dirt fields of his native Brazil.
“Soccer is so dynamic and fun to photograph," explains Vilela. "Every game has a different rhythm and mood. Some are pure fun, some are fast and serious. Every time I visit a football pitch there is a surprise waiting.”
Throughout the month-long tournament, www.hightail.com will feature a new photograph every day, forming a unique artistic accompaniment to the festival of futebol happening in Brazil.
Vilela's photographs will also appear on Highly Inspired, a Tumblr page dedicated to showcasing the photography and art of Hightail's 45 million registered users.
Football-themed submissions to #HighlyInspired will be considered for Hightail.com, giving users the opportunity to have their work seen by more than 300,000 daily visitors.
“We're about providing simple and secure file sharing," says Hightail's Chief Marketing Officer Mike Trigg. "But the real magic is what it enables our users to do – share the results of all their hard work and creativity. We love taking any opportunity to showcase the amazing work of people like Caio.”
